-Charie says, "Nagseselos ka noh!" And her dad Jonas replies, "Ako,magseselos sa nognog na yon?!" Denial factor pa talaga.Minus 1
-Dok Carlo throws some quote to which Kat-Kat replies, "Dok,parang narinig ko na yan.Ki Lito Lapid yan noh?" Again, bringing up Lito Lapid just shows the influence of the actor on their lives.Plus 4
-Kat-Kat's bestfriend gives her some advice: "Give love a chance." Simple statement but it sure does make a lot of sense.Plus 5
-Jonas falls on the mini fountain while he and Enzo are hanging out on the park.At this scene, he shows his fear. I can relateeee.Plus 3

-Tita Mildred to Enzo: "Grounded ka!" Plus 4.I know that she's being mean in here but the reason why I like this part is because it's funny how she still thinks of Enzo as a real kid.

- Lorenzo's Tita Mildred  can be both naughty and nice.Most of the time,she's mean and knows how to play it well. "My good for nothing brother." Despite the harsh comment, I gotta say that it is one of the most unforgettable lines.LOVE
-Lorenzo wears suspenders while walking with Charie.Is it me or is  he just the cutest boy/man ever?The suspenders alone screams 80's.LOVE
- Jonas+Charie+Enzo eat hotdogs on the park.Can I please join this since I'm still very childlike? LIKE
-Enzo bringing up his absolute admiration for Lito Lapid while Charie seems to be unaware of he is.
 "Parang si Justin Beiber?" Bringing up Justin Beiber to measure Lito Lapid's popularity during his time!LOVE LOVE
-The ever-reliable driver,Jabar gives his no-nonsense advice. "Malungkot ka pala eh, di huwag mo gawin." LOVE
- Enzo, Jabar, and Dr.Carlo tries to do their own take of Leon Guerrero.Watching movies of Lito Lapid would have been a nice cure for Enzo's heartbreak but staging their own little role play was epic.LOVE
-"Senador na si Leon Guerrero." I think this scene was really striking because it signifies change.Whenever we come across people we haven't seen for a while, we would be surprised to know news about them.Truly, nobody knows where life is going to take you. LOVE
-Enzo+Jabar+Dr.Carlo comes to the senate to make Enzo's dream of meeting his idol come true.LIKE
-With that, the trio comes donning suits and shades ala men in black.LOVE
-"Asan kaya dito ang opisina ni Lito Lapid?" Feeling siguro ni Enzo nasa mall lang siya. LOVE
-Jinggoy Estrada is the new love guru.The love talk with Enzo in his office :) LOVE

TUESDAY
-Dr.Carlo goes to the Dep. Store where Kat-kat works to buy shoes.Ehem,shoes ba talaga gusto mo? I was thinking of something more interesting than Dr. Carlo's arrival at the work place of the girl he likes.DISLIKE
-Kat-kat's co-workers get kilig with Dr.Carlo's arrival.Does nothing for me.DISLIKE
-Dr.Carlo says, "Nabaliw ako sa kagandahan mo," in a hush tone.Baka naman Dr.Pick-up ka na,dok? LOVE
-Enzo and Charie fooling Jonas into believing that Kat-Kat wants to talk to him. Of course, Jonas doubts this at first. "Weh, di nga?!" Few days ago, my professor was discussing why she does not like this book because the characters seems to converse unnaturally.By that, she means that there are just times wherein lines seems to be so perfect or so rehearsed.And that's probably the reason why I love this scene because it just goes to show the genuine or the natural way of conversing with other people.LOVE


WEDNESDAY
-Jonas gives money to Kat-kat for Charie's tuition fee.Goes to show that Jonas is really trying to be a good father by showing some responsibility. LIKE
-The farmer played by Emilio Garcia reject the money to bribe him for silence.With that, he says what I call the "dignidad speech." Let me say that although I would love to see people actually rejecting any forms of bribery, I think I have seen a gazillion of movies, and series featuring an underdog and having him/her say that line.DISLIKE.
-Jonas peeks through the window and sees Kat-Kat and Dr.Carlo exhanging a quick hug.Awwww yaa poor thing, come to me na lang.LIKE

THURSDAY
-Jonas throws off a mini celebration in Kat-kat's home since he's doing a great job in his work.Thing is, the whole gang waits for Kat-kat to arrive and when she does, she comes with Dr.Carlo.Gaaaahhhhh jealousy is in the air.Love triangle intensity is increasing rapidly.LIKE
-Dr.Carlo asks for Enzo's permission so that he can court Kat-kat.This scene is adorable because Dr.Carlo makes it a point to pursue the girl he likes without ruining his friendship with his friend.LOVE
-When Enzo agrees to let Dr.Carlo pursue Kat-Kat.He says that it would be hard to be in a position wherein you would have to be told who you should and should not love.Wise words from a gentleman! :) LOVE LOVE
-Enzo and Dr.Carlo's handshake to signify their truce. LOVE

Before anything else, let me tell you about one quotation that I believe in:

“It is our perception of a thing that determines our reaction to it, not the thing itself.”

I’m not really sure who said that. I actually just read that from Paul Wesley’s tweet. So, yes, if Paul Wesley didn’t just quote someone else for that, I have to accept the fact that I’m quoting an actor from a vampire franchise. Haha. Anyway, I wanted to share that quote because whatever I say here are just my opinions. The way I perceive things is different from the way everyone else perceive things, so let’s all just be respectful. J (And just a disclaimer, I prefer Gino for Mikay. But I’ll try not to be too biased! Haha)

Monday

·       Jao asks Mikay about living in Yangdon. Agad-agad? PBB Teens? Minus 2.

·       Ashi’s pink+green+brown+blue gown. Anything that’s funny-looking is Plus 2.

·       Another Plus 2 for Ashi fixing Mikay’s bangs as she gives her instructions about the jewelry.

·       Gino gives Mikay a pack of chocnut. When a guy’s short on money, he gives the girl chocnut. Of course. How original, Gino. But still, Plus 2 for effort.

·       “Sinong magpriprito habang nagbebenta ako? Sinong magbebenta habang nagpriprito ako?” Gino says. Plus 1.

·       Gino talking to an imaginary Mikay. THAT ENTIRE SCENE! PLUS 10.

·       Gino and Mikay aren’t friends in Facebook yet? Minus 1.

·       But maybe it’s because Mikay doesn’t have an account. She’s probably too focused on her studies and her dreams, there’s no time for distractions. Aww, admirable! So, Plus 1.

·       Kiko: “Best friend ako, hindi slum book!” Plus 0.5. Gino still can’t get Kiko’s name right. Haha, Plus 1.

Tuesday

·       Mikay’s father overhears Gino talking about going to NSO, and reprimands him. But… but… it is Dindy’s idea! Minus 1.

·       How do you expect to scheme successfully against the King if you can’t even scheme properly against a teenage girl, Ashi? Tsk Tsk. Minus 3.

·       Wait, I’m still really confused about the language thing. Isn’t it that when the Yangdon people speak in fluent Filipino, they’re actually speaking in Yangdon language but the actors are speaking Filipino for the viewers? So why did Mikay responded to Ashi’s “Dahil inagaw ka niya sa akin.”? I want to give this a Minus 5, but I’m not really sure how it works, so never mind.

·       That screaming scene of Jao and Mikay, Ugh. I’m sorry but I really hate it when people on TV shows and movies do that. Minus 10! But I shouldn’t really base things purely on my preferences, so Minus 5 only.

Wednesday

·       “Ginagawa lang naman niya iyon dahil mahal ka niya,” Mikay tells Jao at the park. That was the same thing that he told him at the coffee shop! Minus 3.

·       And then Mikay talks about how obedient of a daughter she is. Minus 5.

·       Jao is with Mikay. Kiko is with Dindy. Gino’s alone and helplessly in love with Mikay. I want to give this Minus 2 for the sake of my little sister who’s a huge Gino-Mikay fan and is very hurt right now.

·       Dindy likes Kiko, but Kiko likes Mikay. And Dindy still manages to not have ill feelings towards her sister? Awww, Plus 2.

·       It rains. They get stranded. OF COURSE. Minus 10, not because of my shipping preferences, but because of how cliché it is. I can’t even! (But in all fairness, we are experiencing a typhoon at of this moment in real life.)

·       Ate Vicki to her mother: “Nay, wag nga kayong mapraning.” Ha! Isn’t she already?? No minus, though. Let’s be considerate.

Thursday

·       Kiko talks on the phone with Dindy. Gino talks on the phone with Bianca. Are they foreshadowing a Bianca-Gino endgame? Nooooooo! Minus 3.

·       Nagbibilang ng bangs para makatulog? All “bangs” jokes deserve high points. Plus 5.

·       Gino tried counting goats instead of sheep. Plus 0.5

·       I can’t comment on anything else about this episode. I got too bored with the kulambo/lamok scene, so I wasn’t able to focus on the rest of the episode anymore. Haha!

Friday

I don’t have anything to say about Friday’s episode because I got too annoyed. But, again, I didn’t get annoyed because of who I prefer for Mikay! I got annoyed because I felt that the scenes were too contived. Jao rushes to save someone, Mikay reacts overdramatically, Jao gets injured, Mikay gets shocked at the thunder and hugs Jao… blah blah blah. Even Gino’s charm didn’t work for me this episode! 

PBB TEENS?!?

I'm pretty sure you've heard of the much abuzz that these teens have brought forward to our primetime television.It seems like it was only yesterday when Kim Chiu emerged as the PBB grand winner of the teen edition.After six years, we now  have a whole bunch of teens that currently occupy the role of teen housemates this year.I've only started watching the reality show few weeks ago, and as much as I hate to admit, I am completely hooked.Perhaps the reason why I could not help but miss an episode of the show is because it's so much interesting to watch  when everyone else could not help but say a bad thing or two about the way the teen housemates' behavior.It does not help that Vice Ganda improvised a new term that corresponds to the actions that we are currently seeing on our televisions. "PBB TEENS?!?"

Allow me to cite some particular issues that definitely made me uncomfortable, probably just  like anyone else would be.
1) Karen the wannabe victim
How could I possibly forget this? It started when Karen was having fun playing with the boys until it got uncomfortable since the boys tried to make her appear like a victim by tying her hands.It  was a disturbing  joke and Karen was having fun while that was happening but it only takes a while before big brother calls them for their wrongdoing.


2)Yves+Myrtle+Kim triangle or known as The player, cosplayer, and the houseplayer

Unless you've been living on a cave these days, I'm pretty sure that you've heard about this.People who have been  watching this show ever since must have noticed the closeness of Yves and Myrtle before the arrival of Kim as a house player.As soon as Kim takes off her blindfold to meet the housemates, we can already sense something interesting coming up the show.The awkwardness was evident whenever Kim and Myrtle would be on the same place together.

I think the three of them brought this issue upon themselves.Kim was being a bit distant to her "bestfriend" Yves without confronting him about the issue immediately.Myrtle was proclaiming to everyone that she was not hurt and she does not feel anything, but who is she fooling? At her confrontation with Yves, she vent out her frustration and even slapped him.On the otherhand, Yves  was neglecting to talk about the issue and divided his time by going back and forth to Myrtle or to Yves.


3) Too much comfort
For me, there is still a need to draw the line with how we present ourselves to the people we meet no matter how close we have gotten, especially if it's the opposite sex we're talking about.On a recent challenge given by Big Brother, Roy had to pluck armpit hairs from all of the housemates for him to be able to get free hamburgers for all.The intention was good but the idea is a bit off . A guy plucking hairs from the girls' underarms! Isn't the idea a bit uncomfortable?In addition to that, we can see how the girls would freely hang out at the boys' bedroom and go all cozy with them.I don't think this proves to be a positive influence to the viewers.

Tween Queens

Every time something forces my thirteen year old little sister out of her celebrity-filled day dreams, there probably are only very few other things in this world that she could bear think about. And, whatever those things may be, I’d bet she won’t last a minute letting those linger in her head without regressing back into thinking about her favorite celebrities. News about latest TV projects, romance rumors, celebrity fun facts, name it, my sister’s got it all memorized.

But I can’t help but wonder what is it with these celebrities that they’re basically who my sister is living and breathing for. What kind of addictive substance do they contain that just about every aspect of my sister’s life is evidently laid out with her obsession. You can see it in her every tweet, every Facebook status, every Tumblr post, and because she can’t take a hint that I don’t care, I have to endure it too in every text message that I receive from her.

ABS-CBN successfully conquered the tween scene with the remake of one of their most loved teleseryes, Mara Clara, and with it, they also succeeded in producing two new stars- Julia Montes and Kathryn Bernardo. And these two reigning tween queens, people, are my sister’s obsession.  As I said, it really makes me wonder why my sister would choose to spend her time being a  fangirl  over two teenage girls.Because of that, I’m just going to try and see what possible reasons my sister and basically every tween in the Philippines have for liking Mara and Clara so much.

I asked my sister what she likes most about Julia and Kathryn and she said that she thinks they’re both pretty and talented. Not that looks matter, but I do agree that they’re both pretty. Not the kind of pretty that I would particularly classify as remarkable, but still pretty. I think there’s also no point in disagreeing that they’re both talented. I wish I could deny this but I actually followed Mara Clara all throughout and I can say that they weren’t bad at all. Julia, especially, was effective in portraying her kontrabida role.

Maybe my sister does have valid reasons to like these two after all. They’re pretty likeable, I guess. I can think of a couple of redeeming qualities in them. They do have the charm.Also,they do appear perfectly sweet and polite. I personally think it’s just the kind of polite that knows exactly what’s already perfectly expected of them to say. But then again, I do know that it’s not easy to always appear so perfectly nice, so maybe I’d just commend these two for that as well. 

It’s been almost a year since their debut teleserye ended and they’re both now being trusted with different projects. Julia is currently starring in the teleserye Walang Hanggan. Unfortunately (or maybe, fortunately), I haven’t had time to watch that show yet. All I can say is that it still boggles me a bit that she’s being paired with Coco Martin. It’s seems that the management is building her up fast as a leading lady. She’s kind of starting to remind me of Bea Alonzo.

Kathryn, on the other hand, will soon star in “Princess and I” with not one, not two, but three leading men. As opposed to the management’s pedophilic choice for Julia’s love interest, Kathryn’s currently being paired with a boy of her age, Daniel Padilla. Ugh, I hate to admit this, but I do think they’re vibrant, fresh, and cute together. Her other two leading men will be Enrique Gil and Pilipinas’ Got Talent’s Khalil Ramos.

I totally failed in trying to understand my sister’s obsession, didn’t I? Well, I did try to as you can see. It’s pretty obvious these two girls are on the top of their game. How long they’ll stay on top and how far they’ll go, let’s wait and see. And I’m sure there are plenty of things to wait for and see when it comes to these two.
